Bike Week All Abilities Ride at Seminole
by skankingbiker on May 22, 2015, 04:59 PM
Please come out to Seminole trails on Wednesday June 10 at 6:30 p.m. and help CORP host an all abilities group ride. This is part of Bike Fed's "Bike Week" and is intended to get new riders to try out singletrack.  We will have a "rolling pickup" starting downtown at 5:45, and start riding at the trailhead at 6:30p.m. Additionally pickup spots at Glenway and Pacific Cycles.

Here is the official announcement:

Seminole Bike Trails, 6:30 pm

Try out Dane County’s first entry level mountain bike trail! While a dedicated mountain bike is nice,
these trails can be navigated on any bike other than a skinny-tired road bike; commuters, ‘crossbikes,
hybrids, striders… bring what you have. Sturdy shoes and a helmet for sure. Ride out on the
Southwest Bike Path, or meet at the trailhead by the roundabout (just west of the Dawley Bike Hub
on the Capital City Trail). Mellow pace and plenty of encouragement.
5:45 - W. Washington Ave. and the Southwest Trail
6:00 - Glenway St. and the Southwest Trail
6:15 - Beltline and the Southwest Trail
6:30 - Hit the dirt!

Battle of CamRock Volunteer Sign Up!
by RenegadeRick on May 20, 2015, 12:06 PM
We are about 2 weeks out from the BoC! Please take a few minutes to fill out the form and help us continue to run the best race in WORS!

We still have less than 50% of the slots filled. Please take a minute to sign up and motivate others to do the same! Given the shorter shifts it will be a much more enjoyable experience than it has in the past!

You can definitely sign up for more than one time slot! The times overlap to make sure there is time to check in and make your way to your post before the person you are replacing needs to leave. If you are signing up for 2 slots for the same location you would just stay there for the duration of the event. Food and water will be delivered in this situation.

The meeting will take place after the normal Thursday night ride. To make sure we have time for the meeting, we are starting the ride at 5:45 p.m.

This meeting is open to all CORP members.

HUGE Thanks to Pacific Cycles
by Nick C. on May 18, 2015, 08:38 PM
HUGE Thanks to Pacific Cycles for reaching out and offering their help on getting some more progress at Seminole!

We started the day with a bicycle delivered grill-out, followed by a quick chat, then off to work.

Our major drainage concerns were put to bed, as well as a re-direct for the combined EXIT trails.

After those goals were met the group split: half back to meetings and the rest pushed on to bench and groom the ENTRANCE trail on our way back to Cap City.

These guys and gals are great!

IMBA Spring Membership Drive
by RenegadeRick on April 10, 2015, 08:21 AM

The IMBA spring membership drive has been extended. Why is that important? Even if you don’t win the prizes, joining IMBA and choosing CORP as your chapter brings your money back home and makes it possible for your local trail stalwarts and regional IMBA staff to get things done!

You love your local trails and CORP but are not sure about IMBA? Go to http://www.madcitydirt.com/donate to donate via PayPal.

Waiting for the wet spring conditions to pass and start riding? Join the CORP work days now through summer. The riding opportunities always exceed the help we have to make it happen. Please give in any way you can to help a great 2015 riding season.

Media help wanted!

CORP would like a volunteer to make, lead or assist in preparing a video to show our IMBA Chapter area and help explain who we are and what we do. Several of us have photos and video to assist if a volunteer doesn't have original material already.

Here's a great example from the Marquette chapter.

2015 Meeting Schedule
by skankingbiker on December 28, 2014, 08:09 PM
For 2015, CORP is returning to regularly scheduled monthly Board meetings.  Meetings are every 4th Thursday of the month at the Fitchburg community center from 7-10pm in the Prairie View Room, unless otherwise noted.  The meetings are open to members at large.  We will have a Q & A session at the end of each meeting.  Also, if you would like something to be discussed or would like to address the Board, please e-mail one of the Board members and we will put you on the agenda. We will publish an agenda at least 1 week before each meeting. We hope this format will encourage more participation and more transparency.

Next meeting for 2015 is Thursday, May 28.  Hope to see you there.
