Blue Mound Trail Project Moving Forward!
by Gary S on May 18, 2016, 10:34 AM
The Friends of Blue Mound State Park voted to approve up to $7500 towards a trail project to rebuild Chert Dip, which is an intermediate level segment of trail that was not included in the original scope of work proposed that is now on hold. Combined with the proceeds from the very successful CORP fundraiser this spring, the project is now fully funded!

This trail segment will tie in nicely to future trail improvements, and will offer a glimpse of things to come. There are a number of technical issues to work out before the project can begin, but there do not appear to be any major obstacles remaining.

The Friends continue to step up for mountain biking at the park. Please show them that their generosity is appreciated. There are many remaining volunteer slots for the Horribly Hilly Hundreds on June 18th. This event is where the money comes from that supports us. Please select CORP as your affliate group when registering. Thank you!

Our premier event is fast approaching, and we have many shirts to fill!  Many jobs to choose from, and you can work around the race schedule if you are racing.  This is an important fundraiser for CORP, and a great chance to show off our work.  We need your help:  please visit the signup form for more information and sign up!

Update: Cross Plains Singletrack - May Meeting
by Gary S on April 18, 2016, 10:07 PM
Update:  Thanks for everyone’s input on the Cross Plains trail proposal!  We received a lot of really good information which has helped to create a convincing proposal.  Attached is the submitted document that will be discussed at next week’s Parks and Recreation Committee meeting.  The trail system that is being proposed shows approximately 6 miles of new trails through varied terrain.

Next week’s meeting will be an opportunity for the CORP community to show their support.  It would be great to have everyone who is interested join in the discussion.  Our goal is to drive home the benefits of mountain biking to local communities, provide some background on mountain biking enthusiast, and speak to CORP’s commitment to trail construction and management.  We would love to hear in-person examples of all of these points.

Meeting Info
Date: Monday, May 16, 2016
Time:  6:00pm
Location:  Rosemary Garfoot Public Library, 2017 Julius Street, Cross Plains, WI 53528
Agenda:  To be posted at www.cross-plains.wi.us, under Parks and Recreation Committee

We hope to see you there!
