Quick Quarry Park update and an ask.

The proposed plan for the trails at Quarry park was presented to the neighborhood this past Monday the 25th.  This proposal was refined by members of the city of Madison,  neighbors,  walkers and CORP.   You can see by visiting the City of Madison parks project page.   There will be a short window for any comments from users to make tweaks to the proposal.   The City has allowed us to set up the work day (with REI) on May 28th with the goal of having the proposal final by then, things are on schedule.  Based on all of the back work with the QP working group the proposed plan was solid and well thought out.

Also, I wanted to reach out to the MTB community.  There have been some reports of digging (this was not just repairing transitions which is maintenance and is OK) and log cutting at the park.  Please if you see someone ask them to stop with reason that a plan is about to set into place and not to irritate the city.  In addition, the plan is not officially approved and no work on any proposals should be made at this time.   Quarry Park has always been a place where many people came, made changes and usually improved, but with city behind MTB in the park we have to work within their parameters and trust me we will get some RAD changes at the park over the next 2 years.
