The Friends of Blue Mound State Park voted to approve up to $7500 towards a trail project to rebuild Chert Dip, which is an intermediate level segment of trail that was not included in the original scope of work proposed that is now on hold. Combined with the proceeds from the very successful CORP fundraiser this spring, the project is now fully funded!

This trail segment will tie in nicely to future trail improvements, and will offer a glimpse of things to come. There are a number of technical issues to work out before the project can begin, but there do not appear to be any major obstacles remaining.

The Friends continue to step up for mountain biking at the park. Please show them that their generosity is appreciated. There are many remaining volunteer slots for the Horribly Hilly Hundreds on June 18th. This event is where the money comes from that supports us.
