Didn't looked like anyone maintained it though- had to ride thru jungles and guess if you are still on the trail. Tons of ticks. Full suspension is the only option. Not what I would call flowy..
Any reviews of Cuyuna Lakes in MN?
The Ouachita Trail in AR is pretty nice...definitely has some flow.
Everything I've heard anyone say about Cuyuna Lakes uses the work flow over and over. You're running into the same winter problem there as Copper Harbor though...it's quite a ways North.

Honestly, you're both right. You could spend $1000 on 2x10 parts alone. So in that case, the new bike is a better deal.
Q is right too...how much time to you spend in your bigger gears? If not that much, go the 2x? route by removing your big ring and limiting the front derailleur down to 2 rings.
You can put 8, 9, or 10 speed cassette on your wheel.

Well, I was undecided until I saw the close up of the seatpost, that sold me. $500 sure is a steal for a $3000 bike and 31.6 post.
Those water bottle clamps are actually pretty rare...especially for a 31.6 post

The Specialized Roadie is actually available as a complete bike if you're so interested...
It'll have a mix of Campy 9 speed components and could be a double or triple crankset.
Price would be in the $900-1000 range depending on a couple options.

56cm Specialized Allez Cro-Moly. $300

It's been recently powdercoated BLACK. No decals for a stealthy look.
Also includes a Bontrager Satellite carbon leg/alloy steer tube fork and a Cane Creek Solos headset.

The Singular that was listed here too has sold.
