Weekly CamRock Group Ride and Folly
« on: June 01, 2012, 12:03 pm »
Monday Evening Group Ride

Every Monday group ride starting at the CamRock Cafe & Sport (217 West Main Street, Cambridge WI 53523) at 6:00. We will ride CamRock 1 (approximately 1 mile) before dumping into single-track heaven and eventually returning to CamRock. For CORP members: 5% of all purchases at CamRock Cafe & Sport at this group ride (or any other time) will be donated to CORP.

This is a no drop group that is perfect for not only seasoned riders but new folks, spouses, buddies etc. If there are enough people we would pair off by general skill and comfort and meet back at CamRock Cafe & Sport for food and folly.

As the night ride develops CamRock Sport will also offer live music after the ride. Check www.camrocksport.com for more info.

Alright! This is going to go down for this year! Jeff Knops at CamRock Sport is stepping up and taking responsibility to make sure this happens this year! So every Monday there will be a group ride at CamRock as well as a place to gather before and after the ride. This could really be a blast! As everyone knows half of the fun of the ride is the post-ride beverage. Especially if there are fellow riders hanging around to share the tales with. And they have over 110 brews to choose from ;)

CamRock Sport is even keeping their kitchen open late for us 8)

That's very cool! Too bad Monday is T-ball night. Ah well, I'm sure I'll make some of 'em.

Thanks Jeff and Chuck!

I'm already committed for this Monday, but I look forward to joining this group in the future.

Thats cool. It would be great if this grows organically into a nice weekly event. What a great way tonstartnout the week.

I think meeting & ending at CamRock Sport will be cool. A good place to gather. Shoot the breeze. Compare stories. Etc.

And the fact that great beer and tasty healthy food is available should not hurt at all ;-)

Jeff and I hashed this out and found Mondays work pretty well at least as people get to know its available and can come out. I'll be out there leading a group and hopefully others will want to be ride leaders for what other folks are interested in as far as skill and speed.

As Chuck noted its really awesome that this is a shop hosted ride so it doesn't falls squarely on myself or Chuck or another CORP person to show up and make it happen! I think this is a good format to keep rides consistent all year and for years to come. I look forward to it. Oh and the first two CORP members to walk up to me and call me Oh Captain My Captain I'll buy a beer for. :)

It was nice riding with everyone. Chuck was on a roll clearing the technical features, even the new log ride in the Outback. See you all next week!

Agreed Tim. This is the sort of place I've been yearning for. Fat wheels, kayaks, beer, and sammys. Ohh, congrats to Chuck for being the first ever MBR. Dude balled all night...

Yes we must inform the masses. A new award was crowned at last nights ride by the fine gentleman owner of CamRock Sport, Jeff Knops. MBR = Most Boss Rider of the night. Proud to wear the honor for the week ;-)
No crown to wear but the tremendous respect of your peers is priceless :-) The air is a bit rare up here I must say. Did I mention that a free beer is also given to the weekly recipient? Compliments of CamRock Sport of course.

Week two of the Folly starts tomorrow. Time to come on out and remember the fun that is the reason we ride. They are saying we might get a quarter inch of rain, done by early afternoon. If we get it that would just knock the dust down.

Same bat time. Same bat place. Come and join us at CamRock Sport at 6p tomorrow!
