Do you enjoy your local mountain bike trails?  You can help make them better by telling someone about them!  The representatives of the land managers we work with (parks directors, rangers, etc.) are well aware of the use the trails get and the impact they are making, but many times folks higher up the chain have no idea, and that's often where decisions about funding and access get made.  We get comments like, "Why should we invest in a niche sport?" or, "I've never seen anyone on those trails."  Send a quick note to your alder or council member, and let them know how much the trails mean to you and the broad and growing community of riders that use them.  Stay positive, and don't just tell them you like to shred; think about the benefits for the broader community: more people, especially kids, on bikes, outdoors, getting exercise; not having to drive so far or at all to reap these benefits.  Economics speaks loudly to many people; if you spend money where you ride, let them know.

This spring has really driven home how important our local trails are to so many people.  Help make sure that that is not our secret, and keep the good things coming.
