in Quarry Ridge (Moderator: Schrader)

If the forecast holds up (sunny, 27 degrees), will Quarry Ridge be open on Friday afternoon/evening? I've never ridden there in the winter, so I'm not sure how long it takes to freeze/thaw.

I am going to say most likely no because the ground will not be completely frozen but it is worth checking.
In my opinion the XC loop at Quarry Park dries out the quickest so if Quarry Ridge is a no go on Friday then maybe head down to QP.

The best bet in the winter is always after the sun is down. If it is a few degrees below freezing, and the sun is down, there is a good chance the ground is firm.
If the sun is out, it can be 10 to 15 degrees below freezing and still have soft ground. Lots of factors come into play with winter riding on bare ground.
