In addition to being a work day, with some maintenance of old trails, finish work of new trails, and possibly some new trail construction, May 21 will be an open house (no membership needed to ride), and there is an informational meeting for folks interested in working with the youth program at 11:00.  So lots of good reasons to come out.

The weather looks to be great, and plans are forming.  There is a fair bit of tuning to be done to last years new trails, and some maintenance to the old school stuff.  Given enough help, we will be finishing new single-track around the East Chalet (being machine-cut currently), and potentially working on a creekside route that will allow riders coming from Pleasant View to avoid climbing Hill 6 (though why anyone would want to avoid that is beyond me). 

All day is an open house, so you have a chance to try before you buy a membership.  Meet at the East Chalet.  Work starts at 8:00, riding after lunch.  See you there.

Awesome day out there, everyone.  We had a good 40 volunteers out, and made a good start on the new Pines Trail up top, and got half of the Creek Trail in; fully rideable for a less grueling and more single-tracky trip over from Pleasant View.  A fair bit of general tidying-up, but equipment limitations meant there is more to do if anyone wants to.  Thanks to everyone who came out, especially the West Side Composite team members.  And plenty of smiles during the afternoon's riding.  I took some pictures, but none of them came out.  Anyone else?
