in Group Rides, Bike Trips, and Events

Every Tuesday and Thursday we do a no-drop ride heading out of the Capital Brewery Beer Garden in conjunction with the Capital Brewery Bike Club road rides.  We leave the brewery at 5:40, make the short paved-trail ride to Pleasant View, and get as much riding in as the light and our legs allow.  Live music, hot food, and beer await us on our return.

The road rides are big; usually upwards of 50 people, but it's easy to pick out the off-road riders, just look for the knobby tires.

If you're running late, you can usually catch us at the Pleasant View trailhead a little before 6:00.

If the trails are open, it is (almost) always on; check here for last minute updates.

Hey, we could use a couple more leaders for these rides.  There are a few of us regulars, but it would be nice to have a couple more people to fill in when needed.

Note that being the leader doesn't necessarily mean riding in front.  It means making sure everyone has a good time and no one gets left behind.  Depending on who is in the group, it may mean designating someone else to show the way, while you hang back and make sure newcomers and beginners aren't left behind.  If there are enough people and a wide range of skills,  we sometimes break the group into fast and slow groups.  It's more important to be willing to cheerfully accommodate all riders than to be a particularly strong rider.
