Plans are moving forward for the installation of a paved pumptrack at Madison's Aldo Leopold Park.  Funding is in place, and most of the bureaucratic red-tape is cut through, though there are a couple more steps there.  The plan is for construction in late summer this year, if those final pieces can fall into place and a builder is available.  One of those steps is a virtual Public Information Meeting on March 18 at 5:30 pm.  It would be very helpful to the cause if there are a number of people speaking in favor of the plan at that meeting, so if you are available, it would be great to see you there; details here.  If you can't make the meeting, you can submit email questions or comments to here.

This facility will be a tremendous asset for the immediate neighborhood, and a pretty cool thing for our larger community (how does 'rideable during mud season' sound?).  Even more important, it will be the first of its kind in the area, and will help people understand what we are talking about with MadBAT and really open peoples eyes to their value.  Let's help make this happen!

Is this project moving forward this year? Haven't heard anything about it since the news announcement in Feb

I just talked with the folks at Parks; design details are being finalized, construction scheduled to be completed by the end of October.  Never guaranteed until it's done, but that's the latest word.
