Temperatures are staying above freezing most of the day and night. The trails are well into spring thaw. In addition, rain is in the forecast. As of April 10th, rain is in the forecast. Please stay off the trails for the immediate future. Here's hoping for a repeat of last spring's dry weather!

Please stay off while the temps are above freezing.

As a general rule, when the local temperature reaches 30F (or less in direct sun), the trail surface will begin to turn soft and you'll start leaving an imprint. When the trail surface re-freezes, these imprints become hard ruts and potholes which can make the trail less enjoyable and even unrideable. Don't damage the trails by rutting the thawed surface with your tires or footwear. Poor on-site conditions will always override the trail conditions posted here. Always use good judgment when deciding when and where to ride.

Freeze/Thaw
Last chance to ride for a while. The trail should be rideable and in good shape Sunday morning only. It will probably start to soften by 9am or earlier. Please stay off while the temps are above freezing.

Freeze/Thaw
Get out early Saturday and beat the thaw. The trail will be in great condition early Saturday only. Keep in mind the end of Holy Schist (Home Stretch) will be the first to thaw. Plan your time around that and get off the trail before it thaws. It will warm up fast. If you get to it late hill repeats are always an option. Please stay off while the temps are above freezing.

Freeze/Thaw
As the weather shifts toward spring, the condition of the trails is going to deteriorate. It looks like for the upcoming week it will warm up enough to turn the trails into mush although it may refreeze Thursday morning and night. The following week might bring back better conditions, but it's not looking good unless the hikers stay off.
