    Blackhawk MTB Biathlon - 10/31 11AM Blackhawk

    Alright kids, you asked for it and they created it. The FIRST EVER Madison MTB Biathlon will be held 10/31/2015 at 11AM at Blackhawk ski club.

    YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A BLACKHAWK MEMBER TO PARTICIPATE.

    IMPORTANT: This race is aimed at experienced mtbr's who would like to try out a biathlon format. Exact course length is to be determined but riders should be capable of riding 15 to 20 miles of intermediate singletrack.

    Blackhawk Biathlon Club will be hosting a Mountain Bike Biathlon on Saturday, October 31, 2015. This is a novice event, intended to introduce participants to the sport of biathlon, as well as the facilities at Blackhawk Ski Club.

    The race format will consist of an interval start; 3 biking loops on a mixture of single track and cross country ski trail, and 2 shooting stages. Helmets must be worn by all participants. Rifles and ammunition will be provided. All rifles will remain at the firing line during the event.

    Registration will be capped at 45 participants. Online registration closes at midnight on 10/29/2015. If you sign up online and cannot participate, please contact the organizer.

    Fees are $25/racer, which includes the USBA one-day membership (bring fee to race after registering online).

    Any registrant under the age of 18 will need a parent or legal guardian present at on-site check-in.

    This is a beginner friendly event. We will provide mandatory instruction on procedures and use of the rifles during the 10am meeting and will allow you to practice shooting the rifles before the race. We will also have experienced XC biathlete volunteers stationed at the range to ensure safety.
