The Gneiss project is done! A huge thank you to all our supporters!

Please consider donating to help us reach our goal, with matching donations by the Friends of Blue Mound State Park!

Conditions are generally updated only when there's a change. Subscribe to the forum thread to be notified of trail updates via email. Help year-round by keeping the trails clear of sticks and loose rocks, and reporting obstacles and other issues. Please carry out anything you carry in. Pets must stay on-leash, and their waste leaves with their owner. Check the WDNR website and follow all WDNR guidelines.

Hey, your friendly trail builder here! I need your help. Before you head out to ride, make sure that you have two things. Your DCP trail pass and check that your IMBA/CORP membership is current. That’s how all this new trail happens, you're welcome!

Cross Plains
Trail Guide - Trail Guide

Cross Plains, WI - Weather

The temperatures are warm and the trail is closed to all users. Ride when frozen, avoid sun and mid day.

With rain and recent trail work on Oak-y-Dokie/Kick Axe, please be considerate of the hard work volunteers are putting in on berms and features. If they seem soft or are sticking to your tires, please ride around until they have time to harden.

Please be respectful of the private property at the top of the hill and stay on trail. We will start to see hunters on the neighboring property now that it is fall.

We are now up to 4 miles of single track! For some additional mileage park in the lot at Main St and Lagoon St and follow the Zander Park Boardwalk to the MTB trailhead.

Don't forget to like our Facebook page "Cross Plains MTB".

There is a new parking lot off of Cty Z at the Hwy 78 intersection for the Great Sauk State Trail. This will get you to the North GSST trail connector into Kilowatt. The VFW parking lot is still open as well, which accesses Riverside, Dips, Trailside and Rockwire. Please use the Dam Trails gravel lot at the north end of the campground.

IMPORTANT NOTE: With earlier sunsets, the golf course will be locking their parking lot earlier, often before dark if there are no more golfers on the course. If you are there late in the day, you stand a decent chance of getting locked in, which is bad news for everyone involved. Please park at the new Schwartz Rd parking lot.

The CXC property north of the trails is currently closed to biking. Much of it is still private property with easements for skiing access, and respecting the wishes and rights of the landowner is vital to one day hopefully having access. Please stay on the established mountain bike trails on the Middleton Bike Park property.
