BOD Opening; Vice President - Events

We have an opening on the Board of Directors for the position of Vice President - Events.  This is filling an opening partway through the term, which runs through 2023.

The Vice-President-Events is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and expediting major club events and functions and coordinating with other Board Members as needed, and other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the President or the Board.

In the real world, that means attending monthly board meetings (fourth Thursday of the Month, 7-9 pm), keeping in touch electronically, mostly via email, and overseeing club events via the Events Committee.  It does not necessarily mean running the actual events; they often have individuals who are committed to making them happen, though if you have ideas for events and/or want to be a part of running existing events, that is great.  Coordinating and assisting the folks running individual events is the focus of the job.

The principle requirements are a love of mountain biking and the time and commitment to follow through with tasks.  A knowledge of social media, marketing, and what constitutes a good time is helpful, but not required; we have folks with those skills, and the ability to coordinate and communicate amongst those people will serve you, and the club, better than any technical knowledge.
