Trail builder Travis Bellman is hard at work on The Dip this week. This is the portion of Chert Dip that won't be part of the upcoming Beginner Loop. It contains a badly eroded fall line climb which will be rerouted. The attached picture shows the part of the climb just below Dr. Evil's Rock Garden (to the left) and the new trail to the right. Nice work Travis.

Travis at work today. He's one switchback (or two legs, take your pick) above the main streambed crossing, digging his way through a pile of rocks.

Gary and I rode it Tuesday night. The new trail is excellent, there are many well-engineered rock features. Good job Travis!

Update:

We were able have Travis to add another 900' of new construction onto the completed job due to a bit of last-minute generosity from the Friends of Blue Mound State Park and Capital Off Road Pathfinders.

That's awesome!!!  Can't wait to check it out as the other improvements I got to ride last month were all top-notch!  So excited and thanks to everyone for their help and generosity!
