    Bike Week Women's Cycling Social

    June 04, 2015, 01:58 PM

I wanted to invite women to the Wisconsin Bike Fed's Bike Week Event - Women's Cycling Social.  The event will be Mon, June 8 from 6-8pm at the Brittingham Park shelter (Just off W Washington Ave).

    Women’s Cycling Social Tentative Schedule

    • 6-8pm – Meet representatives from local biking organizations, free bike checks courtesy of Revolution Cycles, raffle drawings, and free refreshments
    • 6:15pm – BCycle Presentation: Learn what BCycle is and how it works.  For those who are interested join in a short ride to the nearest BCycle kiosk (1/4 mile) to walk through the checkout process.
    • 6:30pm – Join Ali Dwyer of We Are All Mechanics who will help you prepare for a great ride. She'll share a few simple tips to make sure your bike is road ready. Prevent problems so you can get there with ease.
    • 7pm – Join staff from Meriter and learn the importance of lower extremity stretching. Staff will also demonstrate good quad, hip flexor, and hamstring stretching which are common areas of tightness that can lead to back or knee over-use problems for bikers.
    • 7:30pm – Join the women of the Revolution Cycling Cyclocross team to learn what exactly is cyclocross, why you should give it a try and what techniques are a part of this popular sport.

Also from 6-8pm find out more about the following organizations:
    • Mad FORCs, Madison’s Female Off-Road Cyclists
    • Luna Chix Madison
    • Black Girls Do Bike Madison
    • Revolution Cycling Team
    • Bombay Bicycle Club
