    CamRock Ski Trails

Any issues with riding the ski trails at CamRock?  Did some trail running on them yesterday and seemed pretty good but wanted to make sure I didn't break any rules.  Need to get the legs in some shape before the WORS Iola race in about 4 weeks.

Sticking to trails designed and signed for bikes is the best bet for everybody being happy. A _VERY_ small percentage of the riders do the work that lets you have a trail to ride on. It's quite often when one complaint from the public takes more time than it does to build a lot of trail or raise a lot of money so please consider playing it safe.

If you're a WORS racer you can join the Cam Rock work days and go for a task that works on the legs. That help will make more difference than you might realize as far as the quality of the race because volunteering is a big part of what makes it happen.

The doubletrack ski trails are open to all users. They are designated as ski trails in the winter, and open to all users during the rest of the year. If you look at some of the doubletrack signage they are actually designated as biking trails, along with the other uses.
As for using them now, please let the soil be your guide. If you are sinking in at all on the sections with grass, you will be a lot worse in areas that are dirt. The Hutchens family was out hiking yesterday, and some areas were good. And some areas were still very soft. The problem with biking versus hiking is you come up on these areas quickly and before you can stop or dismount you are already rutting the trail. And these ruts stay around for a long time and give us a bad name in the rest of the community.
Please be patient. The next week should bring about some postitive changes.
And stay tuned for the updated Trail Prep / work days!
